AAKASH 2 LAUNCHED,AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS FOR Rs.1130

the new advanced version of low cost tablet Aakash was launched by President Pranab Mukherjee. It comes with a price tag of Rs 1130 for students. It has been developed under the direction of IIT Bombay with the active support of C-DAC and Datawind is rolling out the device. The new version Aakash 2,will be made available to students of engineering colleges and universities initially. Aakash2 is powered by a processor running at 1 GHz, has a 512 MB memory, a 7 inch capacitative touch screen and a battery working for three hours under normal operations.

The device is priced at Rs 2263 and the government subsidises it by 50 per cent and it will be distributed to students at Rs 1,130. The price may even drop down after the state government subsidy. Over 15,000 teachers at 250 colleges have been trained on how to use the Aakash for education. It will be used for classroom teaching.

In the initial phase,one lakh devices will be provided to students of engineering colleges and universities and subsequently these will be distributed to others. By next five to six years about 22 crore students in India will get the device. The first version of Aakash called Aakash 1 as launched by the government in October 2011. However many problems were detected on the device by the users, so an updated version is released.

Airtel And Vodafone Hikes 2G GPRS Internet Tariff

which is almost 50% less when compared to 1GB data they were offering earlier for the same price.
In Karnataka circle Airtel Increased 2G Data Tariff, Now they are offering 1GB 2G Data for Rs.155 earlier it was Rs.125.
Now Rs.125 pack is offering just 625MB 2G data valid for 25 days.
The operators are hiking 2G tariff so as to promote their 3G service. So that more people will take up 3G service.

One Lakh Bank Jobs to be recruited in India

It is likely that recruitment in Banks may increase by 30%. Financial experts say that portfolio expansion in private and public sector banks has helped for this large scale recruitment.  Recruitment in banking sector is going to be most encouraging. 80 thousand to 1 lakh candidates are likely to get jobs. Compared to last year, this is 25 to 30 per cent more – said Talent Sprint Managing Director & CEO Santhanu Pal on October 2.

Private and public sector banks are in sprint mood for expansion of their branch network. Added to that, retirements and resignations have contributed for creation of these new posts, Mr.Santhanu Pal stated. Mr. Pal further stated that public sector banks are opening 8000 branches during the current financial year and that by the end of 2013 – 14, new banks licensed by Reserve Bank of India will start their activities.

ICICI Bank MD & CEO Chanda Kocher stated that retirements and resignations are a normal feature every year and that they are recruiting net 5000 to 6000 candidates this year. M.O.Rego, Deputy Managing Director of IDBI Bank has stated that in the process of retail trading expansion, they propose to open 300 branches country-wide, for which there would need to recruit 2000 to 2200 candidates. Mr. C.V.Rjendran, Executive Director of Bank of Maharashtra stated that after licences are granted to new banks, many employees may leave their present jobs, that more than 800 employees are going to retire and taking these points into account they  are appointing 30% more than the required number of employees and that they are recruiting 2000 Officers during this year.

Selection Process for 24^th UES Entry Engineering for Grant of Permanent Commission

Preliminary selection for the UES Entry Engineering will be made by a selection team of Command HQ. Candidates are required to be under graduates during the selection process and must be graduates at the time of commencement of the course. The short list prepared by ADG Recruiting, Army HQ is forwarded for SSB interview. The duration of SSB interviews is five days. The candidates have to qualify Psychological Tests, Group Test and Interviews in the SSB stage. Candidates who qualify at the SSB and medical test will be placed in order of merit.
